Welcome, Velkom, Welkom, Bienvenue, Bevenuto, Beinvenido....I could list so many languages of all the lovely and happy guests we have had staying with us already this year!
So at last I have created The Steadings Blog. I have wanted to do this from the day we opened however, little did I know how little time I would have on my hands in year one! Yet, here we are now 1 year 6 months later and the fingers are all set to blog away. I would like to share on this blog the great things happening here at The Steadings, our village and surrounding areas, anecdotes, interesting news & events, a little insight into the running of the B&B and just some general day to day happenings here in the world of The Steadings.
It has always been one of my dreams to open a Bed & Breakfast... maybe one day something a little bigger, and this last year and 6 months has seen me surpass that initial dream so much with the loving & continued support of Mr Dodds we are building the dream I've always had. It is so lovely to hear such warm, gratefull, excited, happy & shining reviews already in this short period and we will work as hard as ever to continue to meet our guests needs and provide a relaxing, enjoyable and memorable stay.
So over the next few weeks I will take some time to recap on the first year and a half but today it is all about the summer ahead. June, June, June!
The temperature is actually rising here in the gorgeous little village of Kettlebridge, ok there are the odd shower or too but we all need a little watering from time to time. The animals are out in force enjoying the weather, nests are being laid all around us here, the wild flora is growing gracefully and the fresh garlic is in such strong bloom that the smell makes me feel like I'm sitting in a restaurant in the heart of Tuscany. The smell is intoxicating.
We have a "bustin' at the seams" diary of guests already booked in for the month of June, however we do have some weekday and Sunday availability, why not have a look at our facebook, website & trip advisor & book to come along and stay...come relax & recharge in the country.
Locally it is a busy month ahead with many of the local highland games fast approaching, food festivals, a comic con and much, much, more. There is so much for our guests to enjoy throughout June. Watch out here and on our facebook I will be sure to keep you all up to date with the best events to get to.
Best of all the great weather and long lingering nights provide the perfect time for investigating the lovely walks around us. Our Rosie dog has been hard at work already investigating some of the walks on our door step and will be venturing a little further afield of the doorstep to create some great maps & fab info on the best walks for our two legged and four legged guests to enjoy their stays. Be sure to watch out for Rosie's Paws for Thought blog entry here too!
Our glorious village pub, The Kettlebridge Bar & Restaurant will also be featuring lots in our blog. With fine food, ales, beers, wines and a fabulous gin menu and array of whiskey it is the prefect companion to a stay at The Steadings. With a fabulous community supporting it the spirits are always high and we will always keep you abreast of the events and theme evenings they have. I am rather partial to the landladies Gin Fizz cocktail and she helps me walk it off too whilst investigating the area around us.
So, I hope this has sparked your interest in our little countryside Bed & Breakfast and that you will join us on this blogging journey. If you have already stayed with us be sure to leave a comment here or on our face book page, or both! It is my goal to work as hard as I can to create a family at The Steadings of guests, social media friends & followers and provide you all with the best B&B experience we can. People are my true passion and lets hope this can be reflected on this blog in case you can't visit us in person.
Until the next chat...
Haste ye back to read along,
