Eating Out & Things To Do

The 'Kingdom of Fife' is famous for its colourful fishing villages, stunning beaches and coastline as well as St Andrews - the home of Golf.  Fife has a rich heritage and you'll find much to explore including outdoor activities, fabulous places to eat and drink, bracing coastline and inland walks and new adventures for the kids.

Our local village inn, The Kettlebridge Bar & Italian Restaurant is always busy and pre-booking is recommended.  Further towards Cupar you'll find The Pitlessie Village Inn where pre-booking is also recommended.  Along in historic Falkland you'll find The Stag Inn, Campbell's Coffee House, The Bruce Inn and The Covenanter Hotel.  Falkland Palace is well worth a visit, not only to see inside the Palace but to explore the beautiful gardens.  More recently Falkland has featured in the hit TV series Outlander.  The Albert Tavern (Ale & Cider award winners CAMRA), is situated in the famous cricket village of Freuchie.

Children will love Cairnie Fruit Farm & Mega Maze near Cupar, where you can also pick your own fruit in season and enjoy a tasty lunch or afternoon tea and cake.  Fife Zoo, Ladybank and the St Andrews Aquarium are are also worth a visit.

Here in the heart of the Howe of Fife we also have some of the most annual Highland Games - at Cupar, Ceres, Markinch and St Andrews.  There are also regular Farmer's Markets offering local game, fish, bread, cakes and fresh vegetables.

We have listed below some of our recommendations and websites where you'll find more information on where and when to visit.
